🇬🇧 The shape of these anti-projectiles screens of the bridge of the tangential of Orleans results from the pleating of a metallic fabric. These are made in one piece, like the pleats of Issey Miyake. Because of its transparency, flexibility and stiffness, the stainless fabric is a material suitable for the context. It is made of flexible cables and rigid wires.
By folding the wires so that the "les" acquire inertia and rigidity, it is possible to minimize the tubular support structure whose first function is to oppose resistance to wind and vandalism.
The screen made of a single piece of fabric, folded in three dimensions, acquires an unsuspected scale and thickness in the site.
The floor consists of a structural assembly of perforated folded sheets, laid in simple support on the bridge deck. It makes it possible to dilate the initial pedestrian crossing by about one meter.
